Countdown to Summer 2013

So it goes in April: Earlier this month, the kids went swimming. Outside! Still too cold for me, but they're swimming! This week marks another trip to the pool. As of today, we count down: 9 days until Lena's birthday. After that, 31 days of May. After that, 7 days until school's out! After that 2 weeks until the summer solstice and we're in the full swing of summer.

Flip flops, tank tops, sun screen. Swimming pools, long days, pony tails.

No makeup, no homework, no dry, itchy skin. No hats, no scarves, no socks!

Watermelon, lemonade, iced coffee, and gin and tonic await! Pitchers of clear iced water with sliced lemons or oranges or limes or cucumber, they beckon.

Let the countdown begin.
